Neil Pessin, Ph.D.

For over 30 years, Dr. Neil Pessin has devoted his career to building community based behavioral health outreach and treatment services for NYC’s most underserved populations. His long held belief that members are best served through the integration of behavioral health and medical care, along with social service supports, is now coming to fruition through initiatives such as Health Homes and DSRIP. Neil is currently Vice President of Community Mental Health Services for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, where he oversees more than 20 grant and Medicaid / Medicaid managed care funded programs employing over 300 staff, serving 15,000 members a year with chronic and acute mental health, medical and substance use diagnoses. These programs serve children and families through senior citizens, offering a diverse array of services including care management, crisis intervention, assessment, housing placement, vocational training, benefits assistance and others. Neil also serves in a leadership role throughout the world of NYC Health Homes, DSRIP PPS’s and behavioral health coalitions, including: President of Community Care Management Partners (CCMP) Health Home; member of the Board of Governors of Brooklyn Health Home (BHH); member of the Board of Managers and leadership committees for several NYC DSRIP PPS’s – Community Care Brooklyn, Mount Sinai and Bronx Lebanon; board member of the Coalition of Behavioral Health Providers. Dr. Pessin’s training includes a Masters and Doctoral Degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University as well as a certificate in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis from New York University.
