Sheila Korman

Sheila S. Korman, LCSW-R,ACSW is a clinical social worker and has worked for BestSelf Behavioral Health and Child and Adolescent Treatment Services for 45 years. When Child and Adolescent Treatment Services (CATS) and Lake Shore Behavioral Health merged in June 2017 to become BestSelf, Sheila became Senior Vice President and a member of the Executive Management Team. Sheila’s responsibilities include overseeing BestSelf’s Adult and Children’s Health Home programs. Sheila has been a member of the CHHUNY Board of Directors since it was formed in 2016.
Prior to the merger, Sheila was a Vice President of Child and Adolescent Treatment Services. Sheila’s responsibilities included Compliance/HIPAA officer, overseeing the outpatient clinics and the intensive wrap care management program. She also started the Children’s Health Home program at CATS.
Over the years Sheila had many jobs at CATS including Clinical Director and the Branch Director of the largest clinic office. She was instrumental in developing and implementing evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents, Parent Child Interaction program, Cognitive Behavior for Anxiety and Functional Family Therapy. Sheila has been involved in numerous collaborations with pediatricians’ offices and schools to set up children’s clinics in their host settings.
